Sometimes the best love stories start without either person realizing that they are standing at the beginning of something that will change their entire life.

That is exactly how our story began.

We met through close friends, and from the very beginning, there was something different about us. We clicked almost instantly, although neither of us would probably admit it at first. Funny enough, when we first started getting to know each other, we were both shy. That was pretty crazy considering how comfortable we had always been around our friends. Somehow, when it was just the two of us, we suddenly did not know what to say or how to act. But as the days went on and we started getting to know each other better, that shyness slowly disappeared, and being together became easy.

Before we knew it, the nights that started with throwing back a few beers quickly turned into conversations, laughs, memories, and eventually something neither of us expected. At the time, we had no idea that those nights would one day become a story we would look back on and laugh about. We certainly did not know that the person sitting next to us would become the person we would build an entire life with.

Our first date was at a bar for a fish fry, which honestly could not have been more perfect because I loved fish. It was simple, but it was ours. Looking back, it is funny to think that something as ordinary as going out for a fish fry would become one of the first chapters of our life together.

As we continued getting to know each other, we realized just how much we understood one another. We could talk about almost anything, laugh about the stupidest things, and somehow always knew when the other person needed a little extra support. We found out that we both loved relaxing together and binge watching movies. And although Dalton will tell anyone who listens that he does not like a good romance or rom com, we all know that is a lie. He may pretend he is not interested, but somehow he always ends up watching them with me anyway.

Over the years, our relationship became so much more than just dating. We started building a life together. We moved multiple times, made different places feel like home, and created memories in every place we have been. Some chapters were exciting and full of happiness, while others tested us in ways we never expected.

We have experienced some of life’s hardest moments together. We have experienced both life and death. We have cried together, worried together, celebrated together, and learned that sometimes love means simply being there when there are no words that can make things better. Through every difficult season, we found our way back to each other.

Our life has never been perfect, and neither have we. But maybe that is what makes our story so special.

Becoming parents was not picture perfect for us. There were hard days, exhausting nights, moments when we were figuring things out as we went, and times when we probably wondered if we were doing everything right. But none of that mattered as much as the little person we were doing it all for.

Then came Hudson.

Our little boy changed our world in ways we could never have imagined. Watching Dalton become a dad and watching our family grow has been one of the greatest parts of our story. Today, we are raising a two year old who keeps us busy, keeps us laughing, and has filled our lives with a kind of love we never knew was possible.

We have learned that being a family is not about having a perfect life. It is about having someone beside you through all of it.

We support one another. We cry for one another. We cheer each other on. We celebrate each other’s accomplishments, pick each other up when life gets hard, and remind each other that we are never alone. We have grown together, changed together, and learned together.

And through all of it, we have continued to choose each other.

When we look at our life today, sometimes it is hard to believe how far we have come. We started as two people who were a little too shy around each other, even though we were perfectly comfortable as friends. We went from beers with friends to a fish fry for our first date. From there, we built a relationship, moved through different chapters of life, created homes, faced hard times, celebrated good times, and eventually became parents.

Now we have a little boy running around our home, making us laugh and giving us a million reasons to keep moving forward.

It feels like the ultimate full circle moment.

We did not know it then, but we were beginning our forever.

We love our little family more than anything, and we cannot wait to see what comes next. We want to keep making memories, watching Hudson grow, experiencing new adventures, and continuing to build a life that is ours. We cannot wait to see where the years take us and what the future has in store for our family.

Our story may not have started with fireworks or some perfect movie moment.

It started with friendship, a few beers, two shy people who unexpectedly clicked, and a fish fry.

And somehow, that turned into us.

Our family.

Our life.

Our forever.
